Continuing the spirit of developing Tourism, 2020 is now the dedicated ‘New Tourism Year’ for Federal Nepal, targeting two million tourist arrivals. Nepal is always positioned as the country of mountains and only for hardcore adventure travelers, but we have much more to offer. Nepal is equally rich in cultural segments into the bargain,  which is why for Visit Nepal 2020 more focus is being given into the direction of promoting the cultural heritage and traditions.
New trends are visible in the tourism field worldwide. Earlier, there used to be fixed itineraries and activities for fixed destinations. Now travelers are looking for flexibility and experiences. Thus, the theme “Visit Nepal 2020: Lifetime Experiences

Nepal is fifth amid the Top 10 countries to visit in the world and number one in Best Valued Destination in the World. Why wouldn’t they be, Nepal boasts pristine natural beauty, sky-high Himalayas Range and endless culture and traditions spread out all over the country.
We have summoned the following objectives that the campaign meets.
 First and foremost, a solid framework that aims to preserve the tourist side is to be designed.
The academic courses for tourism and hotel management are to be upgraded to uplift tourism.
Plans are to be incorporated to make the Tourism Act more vibrant, relevant and contextual.
The extension of Tribhuvan International Airport and construction of Gautam Buddha   Airport in Bhairahawa is scheduled to complete before the Visit Nepal Year.
The construction and renovation of world heritage sites are to be completed before 2020
The objectives have already been classified and the plans are up and running. The government of Nepal has targeted to bring 2 million tourists in 2020.
Since the increased number of tourists cannot be accommodated in the existing hotels, the private hotel sector has initiated plans for adding 4000 new rooms in four and five-star hotels in major cities of Nepal ie Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan.  In addition to that, new international chain hotels are planned to operate in order to accommodate the large invasion of tourists.
 Nepal has a single international airport at Kathmandu. Before 2020, there are plans made to operate two new international Airports at Pokhara and Lumbini. Provision of multiple international airports will allow flexibility to tourists and add up to the perspective of “visit Nepal 2020” success. 
The campaign of Visit Nepal 2020 offers the following activities that promote tourism.
 
1.    Trekking and Mountain climbing
Nothing compares to the Himalayas. Trekking is one of the most popular events for tourists, both Nepali, and Foreigners. Nepal contains more than 1300 peaks over 6000 meters which allows Nepal to offer the best climbing experiences in the world. Trekking is featured with viewing the natural beauty of the Himalayan range and visiting diverse ethnic groups with their own unique culture increased at a more unrushed pace.
2.    World Heritage sites
